19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts

A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his maiden championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from March of 2023.

Victory also means he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular reactions on court had caused observers to question if his capacity to play at the top level was over.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.

The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a third set.

The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner earned the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
